Changes in Responsibilities Announced for R•O•M and FRC Territory Managers

BELTON, MO / NESCONSET, NY (December 30, 2013) Safe Fleet announces changes in responsibilities for both R·O·M and FRC outside territory managers which are aimed at enhancing the customer experience.

“Over the past 24 months, R·O·M has experienced unprecedented growth,” said Don Fishel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Safe Fleet. “During this same time period, the size of our outside sales team has more than doubled.”

“Today, both an R·O·M territory manager and an FRC territory manager call on the same customer. To reduce this duplication of effort, we are realigning territory manager responsibilities around end markets, effective January 1st,” said Fishel.

These end market responsibility changes are as follows:

  1. Missouri-based “emergency” products which include roll-up doors, compartment lighting, cargo trays and hose bed covers, will become the new responsibility for FRC territory managers effective January 1st. See FAQs for more information.
  2. Pennsylvania-based “truck and trailer/industrial” products and Minnesota-based “utility” products which include safety ramps, platforms, trailer access and vehicle ladder racks will become the full responsibility for R·O·M territory managers effective January 1st. Fishel noted, “For the first time, fire departments, dealers and OEMs will have a single point-of-contact for: roll-up doors, compartment lighting, cargo trays, hose bed covers, foam systems, pressure governors and controls, displays, scene lighting, as well as fire station accessories. Our ability to bundle any mix of these products will be easier for customers.”

Q: Why are changes necessary?

A:  Due to unprecedented sales team growth, R·O·M and FRC look to enhance the overall customer experience by creating a “single point-of-contact” for all emergency products in the Safe Fleet family of brands.

Q: What changes are occurring?

A:  Effective January 1, 2014:

A:  Effective January 1, 2014, FRC Territory Managers will be responsible for representing all R·O·M roll-up doors, compartment lighting, cargo trays and hose bed covers into the emergency market. The new points-of-contact are as follows:

Q: Are any changes being made to the inside sales organization at R·O·M?

A:  No. All customer development representatives (CDRs) remain the same.

Q:  Will I be able to submit a single purchase order for R·O·M and FRC products on the same purchase order?

A:  No. Just as today, please continue submitting orders separately, to both companies.

Q:  If I have quoting, billing, service, or warranty related questions on R·O·M roll-up doors, compartment lighting, cargo trays and hose bed covers, who do I call?

A:  Just as today, please continue reaching out to the R·O·M inside sales team (customer development representative).    

Q:  When do these changes take effect? 

A:  January 1, 2014.  

Q:  Are lead times, delivery times, terms, discount, or pricing changing for R·O·M products? 

A:  No.

Q:  Will R·O·M warranty and the RMA process change?

A:  No. The only change is that the outside sales point-of-contact (territory manager) has changed.
